As of the Dec. 16 filling deadline, two candidates have submitted applications to be on the ballot for the Jan. 25 Kyle City Council District 6 special election.
One of the candidates is Brandy L. Heindl, who works in business development and has lived in Kyle’s District 6 for more than 12 years, according to her application.
The other candidate, Michael Tobias, is a police officer who has lived in Kyle for more than 15 years, according to his application.
Due to state and local election laws, once Council Member Daphne Tenorio resigned Nov. 18 to run for Hays County tax-assessor collector in 2020, Kyle City Council had to call an election to replace her within 120 days but at least 30 days before the March 3 primary.
