A 51-inch live oak tree in Kyle will be moved to accommodate a road project this fall, and the city is taking steps to preserve it.
In February, Kyle City Council voted 6-1 to relocate the tree near Old Stagecoach Road to make way for the voter-approved road bond project that involved widening the road to four lanes, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
The project
This project will widen and reconstruct Old Stagecoach Road and a portion of Center Street to make it a continuous four-lane roadway from FM 150 at FM 2770 to FM 150 at Center Street, a news release from the city of Kyle states.
