Transportation Updates

The project, spanning I-35 to Lehman Road, will add a continuous left turn lane to Bunton Creek Road to improve safety and mobility in the area. A three-way stop will also be added at the intersection of Bunton Creek, Goforth Road and Dacy Lane. Utilities—including drainage, water and wastewater—will be improved throughout the project area.

3. Marketplace Avenue extension

The road will be extended from its current dead end at City Lights Drive near the Kyle Marketplace shopping center to connect with North Burleson Road. The road will consist of three lanes. The city still needs to acquire 6.5 acres of right of way.

4. FM 967 improvements

To date, drainage structures, subgrade and road bed have been constructed within the project area. The project will add a center turn lane and shoulders to the span of the road between Cole Springs Road and FM 1626 in Buda.

5. Hunter Road upgrades

Hunter Road construction has forced the closure of the southbound lanes between North Bishop Street and Olive Street. The closures are expected to last through late May. When completed, Hunter Road will include a continuous left-turn lane from Wonder World Drive to Bishop Street.
