1. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass construction In May, the Texas Department of Transportation began work on the Aquarena Springs Drive Overpass, a bridge that will span the Union Pacific railroad tracks that cross Aquarena Springs Drive near Bobcat Stadium. The two-year project includes a four-lane overpass above the tracks with two 12-foot-wide lanes in each direction. Access roads on either side of the bridge will include two lanes and 6-foot-wide sidewalks.

2. Hwy. 80/I-35 left-turn lane addition Crews began working in May to add an additional left-turn lane from westbound SH 80 to southbound I-35. Currently the road has one lane for cars making the left turn onto southbound I-35. TxDOT officials said motorists may experience slight disruptions within the project area throughout the project’s duration.
