1. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass The city of San Marcos has partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an overpass on Aquarena Springs Drive over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks in San Marcos. As of early September, the sidewalks on both sides of the overpass had been constructed, and crews were finishing work on the access roads flanking the overpass. 2. Hwy. 123 overpass TxDOT is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. The project aims to improve safety and mobility in the area. As of Sept. 9 the bridge structure had been placed, and crews were working on the portions of the road approaching the bridge. Timeline: March 2015-mid-2017 Cost: $11.6 million Funding sources: TxDOT
3. Goforth Road improvements Work on Goforth Road, which will be expanded to include two to three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April. The portion from Brent Boulevard to Steeplechase Boulevard opened to traffic in late August. Timeline: April 2016-March 2017 Cost: $6.6 million Funding sources: city of Kyle
