Texas comptroller to distribute sales tax allocations Feb. 9

Of the 10 cities in Hays County, San Marcos, Kyle and Buda will receive the largest payments.

San Marcos will get a check for $2,498,940.11, an increase of 5.6 percent over the funds received in February 2011.

According to San Marcos, sales tax collections account for about 45.7 percent of all General Fund revenue for the city.

Kyle will receive $393,544.04, a 4.2 percent increase over February 2011.

Buda will receive the third-most funds from the comptroller—$382,512.55, a 4.3 percent increase over the city's February 2011 payment.

The city set a record in 2011 for sales tax receipts collected in one year, topping out at more than $3.5 million.

Overall, Hays County will receive $3,474,819.84 from the comptroller, a 5 percent increase over the amount received in February 2011.
