On Jan. 28, residents will get a chance to meet with the elected officials and municipal leaders whose decisions govern everyday life in San Marcos.
At the eighth annual State of the City program, City Council members are set to discuss their recent accomplishments and the challenges facing San Marcos. They are also expected to offer their thoughts on what is ahead for the community.
"This is a great opportunity to not only interact and mingle with City Council members and talk with them directly, but also to meet with all the departments of the city and get some great information about city-related programs," said Melissa Millecam, City of San Marcos spokeswoman.
A fair featuring exhibits and information from city departments and programs is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Following a performance by the Hill Country Youth Chorus at 6:30 p.m., the State of the City program is to begin at 7 p.m. City Manager Jim Nuse is serving as master of ceremonies, and the mayor and council members are giving presentations.
