The Hays County commissioners are scheduled to hold one final meeting to discuss the county's Long-Range Transportation Plan at the Wimberley High School library on Nov. 15.
The commissioners have held three meetings so far with the hopes of gaining feedback from citizens about the first draft of the plan. The draft has been guided by comments from previous public meetings and an online survey that asked residents what transportation issues they would like to see the county focus on.
"This update to our 10-year-old transportation plan is a major undertaking supported by the entire Commissioners Court," County Judge Dr. Bert Cobb said in a news release. "It's critical that we work together with jurisdictions in and around Hays County to ensure that our transportation dollars and our road priorities make the most impact. Residents who drive our roads are a valuable resource in helping us understand what the needs are and how to address them, and we encourage their review of this draft plan."
According to the release, the LRTP determines the county's future transportation projects and "focuses on improving mobility and accessibility throughout the county, provides for future growth and preserves right of way for future transportation facilities."
