Hays County commissioners voted July 17 to re-establish the burn ban for unincorporated areas effective July 20. Due to high temperatures and a predicted lack of rain, residents have through July 19 to burn responsibly in the county. Hays County can expect temperatures in the 100s for the foreseeable weeks ahead, according to weather reports.
