The Hays-Caldwell Women's Center is now occupying its remodeled campus in San Marcos, completing the second phase of campus expansion.
The center's expansion cost $1.2 million and was paid for entirely by donations.
The work includes repurposing the former shelter as a dual-use building, now including the children's advocacy center known as Roxanne's House and the new Center for Community Partnerships; and renovating the Dennis and Cindy McCoy Counseling and Resource Center.
This phase of the center's campus expansion follows the October 2009 opening of the $2.1 million McCoy Family Violence Shelter, which can accommodate up to 50 people.
