Early voting in the May 29 primary runoff election ended July 27, with 4,013 Hays County residents casting their ballots early, according to the county's elections office.
That number represents 4.1 percent of the county's 97,597 registered voters. Of the votes cast, 3,621 were Republican votes and 392 were cast for Democrats, according to figures provided by Hays County Elections Administrator Joyce Cowan.
The single biggest day of voting was Friday, with the largest number of ballots—390 total votes for both parties—cast at the recently added Buda polling location.
Hays County Commissioners had added the fifth location in Buda after concerned citizens visited commissioners court to request a polling place in the city.
