San Marcos City Council meets Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Kyle City Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
On the agenda for Kyle’s regular City Council meeting is discussion and the first of two votes on a new fee aimed at addressing flooding throughout the city. Under the initial proposal, the fee would be a flat rate of $5 for residents. For commercial property owners the fee would be calculated based on the amount of impervious cover—surfaces that do not allow water to seep into the ground, such as pavement—on the commercial property. Buda City Council postponed its regular meeting to Nov. 7.
Buda City Council will not meet on the first Tuesday of the month but instead postponed its meeting to Nov. 7.
Early voting is continuing through the end of this week.
Early voting ends Nov. 4, and Election Day is Nov. 8. During early voting voters registered in Hays County may cast ballots at any polling site in the county. On Election Day voters must cast their ballot at their precinct’s polling site. For a list of early voting and Election Day polling locations, click here. Last week the city of San Marcos sent out a news release reminding residents that if they vote straight ticket they still need to check on local, nonpartisan elections, such as City Council races. Voting straight ticket does not automatically select candidates in nonpartisan elections.
