Following the Aug. 18 decision by officials to rename the roadway Rebel Drive to Fajita Drive in the city of Kyle, City Council will hold a public hearing on the decision at a special Aug. 25 meeting.
City Director of Communications Samantha Armbruster said the Aug. 18 decision is still in effect, but council could vote to change that decision Aug. 25, depending on the outcome of the public hearing.
The special meeting will be at 7 p.m., and Armbruster said there has been much debate from residents and business owners regarding the renaming.
On Aug. 18, Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell said it seems like the right time to bring about a change to the street's name and that a perfect replacement could be to name the road Fajita Drive.
