Currently a San Marcos trustee-at-large and board vice president, John McGlothlin said he wants to create a long-range plan and take immediate steps to improve college readiness; ensure bond dollars are used responsibly to increase capacity; and continue improvements in faculty with improved hiring, more focused and relevant training and a focus on retaining the best employees. The SMCISD board of trustees election is on May 5.
