HB Construction and Kyle Economic Development hosted a groundbreaking May 10 for the new Nitro Swim facility in Kyle. The new facility will be located on the east side of FM 1626, north of Kohlers Crossing.
The project started about two years ago, around the time the COVID-19 pandemic hit, HB Construction President Harley Blackburn said. The pandemic and subsequent issues, such as price increases, have caused set backs, but the team are finally ready to begin construction.
The new facility will be about 40,000 square feet with two indoor pools, a training pool and an Olympic-sized pool for competition. There will be locker rooms for boys and girls, and a main lobby area.
This will be the fourth Nitro Swim location owned by Tracy and Mike Koleber, who founded the business in 2006, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.
