The Kyle City Council awarded a $1 million contract to SPA Skateparks, an Austin-based skate park contractor, Dec. 6 for the design and construction of a skate park at Gregg-Clarke Park.
The park, located at 1231-1301 W. Center St., Kyle, is home to various amenities, such as the James Adkins Pool, the Ash Pavilion, a sports complex and more. It hosts the city's annual Pie in the Sky celebration, skate nights and other events.
SPA Skateparks, in partnership with New Line Skateparks, a design and construction firm, have built skate parks throughout the state, including the Mueller Skatepark and Pump Track in Austin and the Jaws Skatepark in New Braunfels. Together, the firms provide planning, public consultations, design and construction services.
To bring the park to life, the firms will conduct community consultations and meet with local youth and community members.
