Demolition of the dormant Starplex movie theater, located at 1250 Wonder World Drive, San Marcos, has begun to make way for Long View Equity, LLC’s next project, a 313-unit multifamily project.
The multifamily development received approval from the planning and zoning commission as well as City Council primarily in 2021 with some finalization in 2022.
The company hopes to receive its site development permit in early 2023 and begin site work shortly thereafter, Long View Equity Associate Jacob Clark told Community Impact.
Clark added that they will be offering the San Marcos police and fire departments access to the site for training while working through the permitting and design process.
