Marc Woffenden, and his wife, Alexis, will open the taps at Two Wheel Brewing Co., Buda’s first brewery, in late February.
“It really just kind of came out of a wild, crazy dream to own a brewery one day,” Woffenden said. “We decided to do it, and here we are.”
In December, the business hired its first employee. Dennis Howell joined the brewery as head brewer after completing the American Brewer’s Guild brewing school and working for four years at a brewpub in New York.
Woffenden said Two Wheel Brewing Co. will open with four varieties of beer on tap. A blonde ale, pale ale, amber ale and porter will be offered. Woffenden said Howell’s experience with East Coast-style brewing, which emphasizes darker beers, such as porters and stouts, will mix well with his own experience with West Coast-style brewing, which emphasizes hoppier beers, such as India pale ales, or IPAs.
