Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings
The fast-casual restaurant serves Nashville hot chicken of varying spice levels. The Hangry Joe’s menu includes chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, chicken and waffles, salads and wraps.
Family-owned Hays Co. Bar-B-Que has opened a temporary location in downtown Kyle. The barbecue restaurant closed its San Marcos location last summer, and the building was sold to the Hays County Food Bank. Hays Co. Bar-B-Que will operate at the temporary location during the construction of its permanent home.
Kyle Fire Department-Hays County ESD No. 5 Fire Station #4
Hays County Emergency Services District No. 5 opened Station #4 on April 4 at 110 High Road in Kyle, according to a news release. The 9,385-square-foot, $7.6 million fire station was partly funded by a $3 million American Rescue Plan Act grant awarded by the Hays County Commissioners Court in September 2022.

School of Rock Kyle is slated to open on Kyle Centre Drive in late August. The new local franchise is owned by Paige Gorman and Shannon Canada, the owner of School of Rock New Braunfels. School of Rock offers performance- and song-based music lessons and programs for ages 4 to 18. Adult and online music programs are also offered.
European Wax Center will be opening within the Kyle Marketplace shopping center, according to the new location's website. The national chain offers a variety of body and face waxing services.
The locally-owned lemonade business has reopened after a temporary closure for renovations. Now at the temporary home for Hays Co. Bar-B-Que, The Main Squeeze offers fresh-squeezed lemonade, tea and Redbull refreshers with add-in flavors like coconut, passion fruit, mango and more.
Owner Richard Sager will hold a grand opening for his recently opened brick-and-mortar game store from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 1. The event will have a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. and free agua frescas and light snacks at 5 p.m. with a DJ. Adventures With Dick Hobby & Games sells card games, supplies and pop culture products.

Doxa Coffee Roasters will celebrate the grand opening of its Buda food truck at Memorial Miniature Golf & Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 3. The event will include vendors, raffles, pastries and music, according to an Instagram post. The food truck had its soft opening in August, according to previous Community Impact reporting. The local nonprofit organization supporting veterans with higher education scholarships, professional development grants, and mental health counseling celebrated its 20th anniversary at its annual family-friendly gala on April 6. The event featured a live and silent auction, along with barbecue plates, to raise funds for its programs, according to CEO Lisa Adams.
Kyle is set to get a new McDonald's, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. According to the filing, construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026 for a 3,846-square-foot building. An opening has not yet been announced.
Known for serving Tex-Mex and locally sourced barbecue without seed oils from its pop-up food trailer on Ranch Road in Wimberley, Neon Armadillo is set to open a brick-and-mortar location at The Junction in Wimberley in mid-August, according to Chef Adam Puskorius.
WineBerley, a wine shop, bar, and retail space, opened in January, according to a news release. Owned by Genevieve Guy, the shop specializes in biodynamic and organic wines, offering French selections along with Italian, Spanish and American options.
The Wimberley Tex-Mex restaurant serves enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, burritos and more. Nada Mucho’s drink menu features a variety of margaritas and palomas as well as beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.
