Locally owned Sea Barra food truck now open, restaurant coming soon

Sea Barra is bringing the authentic flavors of Baja Sinaloa to the heart of San Marcos.

The restaurant concept—owned by Gilberto and Rosario Amillano—will serve from-scratch tacos, seafood, ceviche and more.

The food truck opened at 420 University Drive, San Marcos on Nov. 16. Gilberto Amillano said the brick-and-mortar location will open in the spring of 2025.

Amillano said their brick-and-mortar location will also have a sushi bar.

"But this sushi bar is totally different than Japanese [sushi]," Amillano added, noting that Sea Barra will be using sauces from Baja Sinaloa.
