Houston-based Urban Bird Hot Chicken has plans to open a new location in downtown San Marcos this fall.
The restaurant will open at 205 W. Hopkins St., which was previously home to Local Joe's Kitchen.
Owner Brandon Gawthorp said he opened Urban Bird's first location in Sept. 2020. Now, Urban Bird has 13 locations with 4 under construction.
The Veteran-owned restaurant serves Nashville Hot Chicken sandwiches and tenders.
