Austin-based bar Mean Eyed Cat is now open in Driftwood.

The details

This year, the Johnny Cash-themed dive bar celebrated its 20th anniversary at 1621 W. Fifth St., Austin in September, followed by the opening of its second location in Driftwood in November.

The dive bar's first location began as a chainsaw repair shop in Austin's Clarksville neighborhood. Behind the dive bar are current owners Matt Luckie, Max Moreland and Jed Thompson.
