A Mansfield-based company developing advanced manufacturing facilities for the aerospace and defense industry will relocate its headquarters to the Tower Business Park in Buda.

The Buda Economic Development Corporation, or Buda EDC, announced the relocation of Even Platforms to the city. The company recently signed a 9,000-square-foot lease at Tower Business Park, according to a news release.
Even Platforms is backed by a variety of investors, such as Khosla Ventures, Link Ventures, Quiet Capital, Alumni Ventures and Marc-Anthony Larco, according to the release. The company will bring dozens of high-skill, high-wage jobs to the city over the next five years.
“Even Platforms joins a growing cluster of aerospace and defense companies choosing Buda to build and scale," said Brian Dyer, Buda EDC assistant director of recruitment and development, in the release.
According to the release, Even Platforms’ arrival strengthens Buda's identity as a destination for innovative industry. The company intends to open its facility to local high school students for tours and internships and to encourage employees to volunteer with local organizations.
"Buda gives us the space, the workforce and the community support we need to scale manufacturing for aerospace and defense," said Even Platforms Founder John Malloy in the release. "We're excited to put down roots here and to give back by opening our doors to local students who want to see the future of manufacturing up close."
Another thing
The Buda EDC and City Council approved a $50,000 incentive for Even Platforms. The incentive will offset the cost of electrical service upgrades necessary to provide adequate power for equipment operation, according to the release.
"[The relocation is] proof the ecosystem we're building here is real, one that brings together the innovators designing tomorrow's defense technology with the suppliers like Even Platforms who make that work possible,” Dyer said in the release. “Every company that lands here strengthens the whole.”
