Water and sewer main replacements, along with street rehabilitation, is ongoing in the Buffalo Valley South neighborhood of Schertz.
The big picture
The Buffalo Valley South Resurfacing, Rehabilitation and Utility Replacement project in the neighborhood costs an estimated $5.3 million, according to agenda documents authorizing the contract for work with E-Z Bel Construction. Funding is split between $4 million from the American Rescue Plan and $1.3 million from Schertz SPAM funding.
Selected streets for the project, those being Mill, 1st, 2nd, Bowman, Lee, Church, Zuehl and Wuest, were chosen from Pavement Condition Index scores that assess local pavement for needed repairs.
