TxDOT announces mid-September lane closures for I-35 Northeast Expansion Project

The Texas Department of Transportation announced a series of highway closures from Sept. 8-14 as part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion Project.

The overview

According to a Sept. 6 news release from TxDOT, a series of highway lanes, ramps and roads will be closed for various construction projects like paving, striping, bridge structure work, bridge deck work and steel girder installation. Closures include I-35 from FM 3009 to FM 1518; I-35 from FM 1516 to Loop 1604; and I-35 and Loop 1604 interchange. The closures will generally occur from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Sept. 8-14.

I-35 from FM 3009 to FM 1518 closures include:

• Northbound and southbound I-35 lanes from Evans Road to Roy Richard Drive and Schertz Parkway to Forum Parkway

I-35 from FM 1518 to Loop 1604 closures include:

• I-35 southbound and northbound frontage roads from Forum Parkway to Forum Access Road and Retama Parkway to Olympia Parkway
• Nearby I-35 northbound and southbound exit ramps, connector and collector ramps
• Three I-35 southbound lanes from Forum Parkway to Ferrell Road

I-35 and Loop 1604 Interchange closures include:

• I-35 and Loop 1604 collector ramps and connector ramps
• I-35 southbound frontage road from IKEA-RBFCU Parkway at Loop 1604 to Pat Booker Road
