TxDOT announces Loop 1604 connector ramps closure for I-35 NEX project

The Texas Department of Transportation will close two Loop 1604 connector ramps from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Sept. 6-9 as part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion project.

The details

According to a Sept. 5 TxDOT press release, the westbound collector ramp for Loop 1604 at the I-35 interchange and the northbound connector ramp of I-35 to westbound 1604 will be completely closed over the weekend for the installation of steel girders.

Detour information

• Westbound Loop 1604 traffic can use the collector ramp to enter I-35 North.
• Westbound Loop 1604 traffic can use Exit 173 to Olympia Parkway to reach the Olympia Parkway bridge and access I-35 southbound.
• All traffic can re-enter Loop 1604 West by continuing to the Loop 1604 collector ramp on I-35 South.

All closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Access to surrounding businesses will remain available throughout the closure.
