Schertz City Council selects design services for future $1.28M road construction

Focus of the project will be in the Rio Vista, Woodbridge and The Village subdivisions. This includes Woodbridge Way, River Road and Curtiss Avenue among other streets. The Jonas Woods subdivision will also see prep work done, with future resurfacing based on available funding.

The application of a slurry seal, a thick layer of a sand and oil mixture, on a street surface is meant to preserve its lifespan and increase its Pavement Condition Index score.

According to agenda documents, prep work before the slurry seal is applied includes some curb and gutter repairs, base failure repairs, asphalt leveling and crack sealing of streets.

Next steps

According to the task order between the city and Kimley-Horn and Associates, estimated construction on the project will begin in October.
