In preparation for major developments and increased traffic in the Medical Center, the San Antonio City Council approved a contribution funding agreement with the San Antonio Medical Foundation on June 26 for a traffic impact analysis of the Hamilton Wolfe Drive and Floyd Curl Drive intersection.
In a nutshell
According to city documents, the traffic impact study is part of the 2022-27 Bond Program Floyd Curl Drive project, which stretches from Huebner Road to Charles Katz Drive. The project will construct roadway improvements, such as driveway approaches, curbs and drainage.
In light of the project, the San Antonio Medical Foundation requested the study in anticipation of a future 1.4 million-square-foot Veterans Administration Hospital that will be built at the intersection. According to city documents, the study was also conducted to determine what improvements should be considered in the South Texas Medical Center area to account for increased traffic due to new developments.
