The San Antonio Airport System will have two open house events on Oct. 19 and Oct. 21 for community members to learn about the airport system’s strategic development plan.
Attendees will learn about proposed plans for the airfield, terminal, airport access, financial feasibility and implementation, as well as what will be built and when.
Local officials have spent years discussing how to best enhance the airport to better accommodate the San Antonio area’s increasing population, and to better attract more carriers and boost direct flights, especially to business destinations.
“Our strategic development plan creates a solid framework for 2040 that will be the genesis of a world-class airport that will both accommodate our growing population and significantly contribute to the regional economy. It will be the kind of airport that San Antonio deserves,” Director of Airports Jesus Saenz, Jr. said in a release.
