Expansion of FM 2252 in San Antonio to begin Jan. 15

On Jan. 15, road work for the section of FM 2252 between Evans Road and FM 3009 in San Antonio and Garden Ridge will begin.

The details

This $48.5 million road project will be done by Harper Brothers Construction LLC, which is headquartered in Houston.

The scope of work includes the widening of the roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a raised median. A continuous left-turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks will also be constructed.

During the construction period, signage will be placed to inform motorists of detours and other construction notifications.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes and avoid the work zone if possible. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the entire project is expected to finish in fall 2027.
