Check out Loop 1604/I-10 closures set for Aug. 2-5

Workers overseeing the construction of a new interchange at Loop 1604 and I-10 in North San Antonio will implement a new round of nightly closures in the immediate area Aug. 2-5.

Current situation

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the following segments of roadway will be closed 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Aug. 2-5:

• I-10 westbound and eastbound main lanes at the Loop 1604 interchange
• Loop 1604 eastbound and westbound main lanes at the I-10 interchange
• Loop 1604 westbound frontage road left two lanes
• Loop 1604 westbound to I-10 westbound exit ramp
• I-10 westbound to Loop 1604 eastbound exit ramp
• Loop 1604 westbound exit ramp to La Cantera Parkway
• All four cloverleaf ramps

TxDOT officials said these closures will be in place to permit bridge construction as part of the new interchange project, which is scheduled for completion by 2027. The new interchange is part of the ongoing, multiyear Loop 1604 expansion initiative.
