The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization invites the public to attend a series of public meetings to review and comment on the draft fiscal year 2027-2030 Transportation Improvement Program.
According to a March 17 news release, this draft outlines transportation projects and programs totaling more than $1.9 billion, scheduled to move into construction or implementation over the next four years.
The details
A total of six meetings are scheduled in different regions of the Greater San Antonio area. Planned meetings include:
- Bexar County (Northeast): March 18; Northeast Senior Center, 4135 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio
- Comal County: March 19; New Braunfels City Hall, Tejas Room, 550 Landa St., New Braunfels
- Guadalupe County: March 23; Seguin Public Library, 313 West Nolte St., Seguin
- Bexar County (Southwest): March 24; Boeing Center at Tech Port, 3331 General Hudnell Drive, San Antonio
- Medina County: March 26; Castroville Elementary, 1000 Madrid St., Castroville
- Kendall County: March 30; Patrick Heath Public Library, 451 N. Main St., Boerne
Alongside the planned meetings, community members can provide input through an online survey and use a map to highlight projects and areas of concern.
The draft TIP can be found on the AAMPO website, highlighting projects in each community planned over the next four years. According to the draft document, final approval is planned for consideration in May.
“Your voice matters now more than ever,” Brendon Wheeler, AAMPO executive director, said in the release. “With the Alamo region expected to grow to nearly 2.8 million people by 2030, the Transportation Policy Board is relying on input from residents and community leaders to guide the next four-year funding program. Together, we can prioritize projects that improve safety, mobility, and quality of life for everyone in our rapidly growing region.”
