$710K bid approved for Hillview Drive improvements in Universal City

Universal City City Council on Aug. 6 authorized the city manager to accept a bid for street improvements on Hillview Drive from Parkview Drive to the start of Ivy Lane.

The project will be completed by D&D Contractors, which submitted the lowest bid at $710,056, according to documents submitted by city staff.

This project includes grant funding from the Bexar County Community Development Block Grant Program, which assists local governments and organizations with funding for public infrastructure improvements.

Hillview Drive Street Improvements CDBG matching grant funds were provided in the general fund's capital improvement projects budget in the amount of $600,000.

The city also received a CDBG grant award of $300,000 for Hillview Drive street improvements totaling $900,000 for this project, according to the agenda packet.
