Ongoing projects
National/East Langley Boulevard
Project: Work consists of removing existing pavement, then rebuilding pavement along with new curb, gutter and driveway approaches on National Boulevard and East Langley Boulevard in Universal City.
Update: The project is expected to be completed in December, City Manager Kim Turner told Community Impact.

- Cost: $2.94 million
- Funding source: capital improvement funds
Project: The I-35 NEX Central Project consists of constructing three elevated lanes in each direction of I-35, providing direct connections to I-410 North and Loop 1604 West.
Update: According to a newsletter update from the Texas Department of Transportation, the tallest elevated lane structures at the I-35 and Loop 1604 interchange now stand at 100 feet. Once cap structures are installed, the connectors will reach 120 feet in height. Bridge beams and steel girders have also been installed at the I-35 and Loop 1604 interchange, as well as at the I-35 and I-410 interchange.

- Cost: $1.5 billion
- Funding source: TxDOT
Project: Water and sewer lines will be replaced in the Buffalo Valley South neighborhood of Schertz. Streets in the neighborhood will be rehabilitated as well.
Update: Street work began in November with a focus on rehabilitating Zuehl, as well as Mill, First, Second and part of Church streets, according to Schertz City Council agenda documents.

- Cost: $5.7 million
- Funding sources: Schertz SPAM, American Rescue Plan Act funds
Project: Existing pavement will be removed, the existing base underneath will be cement-stabilized and a new layer of pavement will be placed on the surface. Streets were chosen by Schertz city staff as needing more than a resurfacing, according to Schertz City Council agenda documents.
Update: In November, concrete pavement repairs began on St. Andrews Drive in the Northcliffe area. After completing the street, contractor E-Z Bel Construction will move on to pavement replacement in the Silvertree area.
