What’s being done
According to agenda documents from the Nov. 18 Schertz City Council meeting, concrete pavement repairs are ongoing on St. Andrews Drive in the Northcliffe area.
Existing concrete sections have been removed on the street, and contractor E-Z Bel Construction is currently working on placing a new layer of pavement.
The work on St. Andrews is part of the city’s 2024 SPAM Rehabilitation project, a $3.58 million project that includes St. Andrews and Maple drives and streets in the Silvertree subdivision.
According to previous agenda documents, the streets were selected as needing more than just resurfacing. Rehabilitation is defined as removing the existing pavement from the surface, cement stabilizing the existing base underneath and placing a new layer of pavement on the surface. The method had been used in the past to address other streets in the Northcliffe area, agenda documents state.
Next steps
After completing the St. Andrews Drive work, E-Z Bel Construction will move on to pavement replacement in the Silvertree area. Silvertree streets in the 2024 SPAM Rehabilitation project include Dove Meadows, Silvertree Boulevard, Idlewood and Grey Feather. The project will be complete in spring 2026, according to agenda documents.
