Cibolo FY25 Street Rehabilitation Package 1
Project: The package, part of Cibolo’s FY25 Capital Improvements Program, will provide rehabilitation at Deer Creek Boulevard from Cordero Drive to Falling Sun, Green Valley Road from Dean Road to Westmont, and Green Valley Road from Cibolo Valley Drive to Green Valley Loop. According to Cibolo City Council agenda documents, rehabilitation is a mill and overlay treatment, where concrete is repaired and replaced as needed. The 2-3 inches of asphalt are also removed and replaced. This will result in an improvement to road conditions for 10-15 years with maintenance.
Update: City Manager Wayne Reed said at the Sept. 23 Cibolo City Council meeting that the project will be completed Oct. 27.

Upcoming Projects
Lookout Road
Project: Lookout Road from Schertz Parkway to Doerr Lane will be reconstructed, and the existing sanitary sewer main will be replaced and upsized, according to agenda documents. A traffic signal will also be installed at the Lookout Road and Schertz Parkway intersection.
Update: According to Schertz City Council agenda documents, the project is currently in the design phase, with right-of-way acquisition ongoing at the Schertz Parkway and Doerr Lane intersections. Some last-minute sewer line changes are being incorporated into project plans as part of upsizing the new sewer line to a 24-inch diameter.

Kramer Farm
Project: Streets in the Kramer Farm subdivision in Schertz were selected to be rehabilitated, including Red Barn Run, Wagon Wheel, Tractor Pass, Rooster Run and Planters Pass. According to the Schertz capital improvements website, rehabilitation is removing the existing asphalt, stabilizing the base underneath and adding a new asphalt layer on top.
Update: Design is underway on the project, with utility locating complete and geotechnical sampling occurring the week of Oct. 6. Streets not completed during the project will be added to a future city street preservation and maintenance, or SPAM, project.
