Reconstruction of Retama Parkway is nearly complete in Selma.

What you need to know

The third and final phase of the Retama Parkway Reconstruction Project began between I-35 and Lookout Road on Sept. 2.

Project construction began in October 2024. The contract for the project is approximately $5.31 million and was awarded to Harper Brothers Construction. The contract also included right-of-way improvements to portions of Alton Boulevard, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

The project will add approximately 4,500 linear feet of roadway with six-foot sidewalks and bike lanes along Retama Parkway, according to the city's website.


Next steps

The project is anticipated to be completed by early October, City Administrator Johnny Casias said in an email to Community Impact.
