The project includes the expansion of the road from a two-lane to a four-lane, bicycle lanes, sidewalk improvements and drainage improvements to Cibolo Creek.
Will Lockett, New Braunfels area engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, said the project is nearing completion and is expected to be completed in July.
“We are really close to completing this project,” he said.
Following the completion of this project, the remaining portion of the project—from Cibolo Creek to FM 3009—is expected to begin in September.
This project will also expand the roadway from two to four lanes and include bicycle lanes and sidewalk improvements.
Lockett said this project is expected to take 36-42 months to complete and will cost an estimated $49 million.
