The Cibolo Valley Drive Reconstruction project will begin on Aug. 1, according to Cibolo officials.

City Council on June 14 approved a project contract with D and D Contractors in the amount of $8.1 million. The project is being paid through the Street Maintenance Tax, which is a portion of sales tax that is appropriated to spend on city roads.

According to city staff, the project will be broken into seven segments with the first section running from Everyday Way to the Panda Express on Cibolo Valley Drive.

During construction times, lanes will be reduced and the city is working with Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD to ensure traffic changes have a minimal effect on school traffic.

Project work is estimated to take 12-14 months to complete, and more information can be found on the city website.
