The chief financial officer for Methodist Hospital Northeast is moving to similar role with a different hospital system.

What’s happening

In a news release on Aug. 5, Methodist Hospital Metropolitan announced that David Heckman will serve as their new CFO. Heckman had been the CFO for Methodist Hospital Northeast in Live Oak since 2023, and has been part of Methodist Healthcare for 26 years.

Heckman’s tenure at Methodist Hospital Northeast included strategic leadership on growth initiatives like its $146 million patient tower expansion, the release states.

The three-story, over 100,000 square-foot tower will add 78 beds to the hospital and increase capacity by 58 rooms once construction is complete, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The hospital also completed its Methodist Plaza II and outpatient surgery department expansions during Heckman’s tenure.

Quote of note

Methodist Hospital Metropolitan CEO Greg Seiler said they were thrilled to welcome Heckman back to Methodist Hospital Metropolitan.

“The experience he brings will prove invaluable to our facility and community as we continue our commitment to exceptional patient care, experience and health care access,” Seiler said in the release.

What else?

Methodist Hospital Northeast does not currently have a replacement for Heckman, Ashley Funkhouser, Methodist Healthcare’s division director of media relations, told Community Impact.
