Universal City’s City Council awarded a $2,794,286 contract to Brooke Paving & Construction LLC on March 17 for Phase 1 of the city’s 2023 Street Bond Reconstruction Program.
What you need to know
Approximately $5.6 million in bond funding for streets was allocated in the fiscal year 2025-26 general fund capital improvement budget, according to agenda documents. The following 10 streets will be reconstructed:
- Churchwood
- Medicine Rock
- Crosswood Drive
- Old Converse
- Gamblewood
- Persia Drive
- Inkswood
- Travis Drive
- Logswood
- 600 block of W. Wright Boulevard
The aforementioned streets will be repaved, driveway approaches will be replaced, and curb and gutters will be improved. There will also be adjustments to some utility manholes and valves, according to agenda documents.
