Selma City Council calls general election for mayor, 2 council seats

The city of Selma called a general election for mayor and two City Council member seats during a regular meeting Feb. 12.

What you need to know

The mayor and council seats for Places 2 and 3 will be on the ballot. The current Selma Place 2 council member is Noah Washington Jr., and Becky Harris is currently serving in the Place 3 position. Tom Daly is currently serving as the city's mayor.

The mayor, Place 2 and Place 3 seats will all serve two-year terms, according to the city's elections website.

Before you go

The first day to file for a place on the ballot was Jan. 14. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 13. Applications will not be accepted after 5 p.m. Feb. 13, according to the city's elections website.
