Guadalupe County residents now have another voting location option in time for Election Day.

On Oct. 13, the Guadalupe County Schertz Annex Building at 1101 Elbel Road in Schertz opened its newly renovated offices.

Some details

The location will house the offices of the County Clerk, District Clerk, and Elections immediately. The Precinct 3 Constable and Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace will transition into the facility in the coming weeks, according to a county news release.

Planning for the $4.14 million project began in the fall of 2023. The architect on the project was Debra J. Dockery Architecture and the contractor was Tejas Premier Building Contractor, according to the release.

Additions to the facility include a secure new main entrance area, as well as changes to streamline operations, the release states.

Quote of note

Precinct 3 Commissioner Michael Carpenter said they were excited to welcome the public into the newly renovated facility.

“This renovation project reflects our commitment to improving access, efficiency and comfort for the community we serve daily. We are just in time and ready to accommodate voters in the upcoming election,” Carpenter said in the release.
