The city of Schertz has rotated its appointment of mayor pro tem to a new City Council member.

What happened

On Aug. 5, Place 7 council member Tim Brown was appointed as the city’s mayor pro tem, taking over from Place 6 council member Allison Heyward.

According to agenda documents, the mayor pro tem position rotates every six months sequentially according to the council member’s place. The only exception would be if the subsequent council place was vacant or held by a council member not qualified to serve in the role.

Brown has served as Place 7 council member since 2018. He also previously served as president of the Schertz Economic Development Corporation from 2011 to 2018, according to the city's website.

One more thing
