Five new transportation projects were proposed to Cibolo City Council on March 25 as part of its five-year Capital Improvements Program for fiscal years 2026-2031.

Cibolo South Neighborhood
  • Project limits: from FM 1103 to North Main Street
  • Project description: The project replaces curbs, sidewalks and water lines from FM 1103 to North Main Street. Impacted streets would include Apache Circle, Buffalo Trail, Sioux Circle, Mohawk Drive, Navajo Circle, Indian Circle, Tomahawk Circle and Comanche Circle.
  • Cost: $5.65 million
  • Funding source: TBD, $750,000 covered from 2012 revenue
Haeckerville Road Extension
  • Project limits: from end of the bridge on Haeckerville Road to Lower Seguin Road
  • Project description: extending Haeckerville Road from the end of the new bridge to the intersection with Lower Seguin Road
  • Cost: $7.89 million

Green Valley Road Traffic Improvements
  • Project limits: from Cibolo Valley Drive to Dean Road
  • Project description: This would be a full street reconstruction with curbs and sidewalks. There would be two lanes each way, with a turn lane from Cibolo Valley Drive to Elaine South Schlather Parkway, and one lane each way with a turn lane from Elaine South Schlather Parkway to Dean Road. Traffic signal improvements would also take place at the Elaine South Schlather Parkway intersection.

Lift Station Decommission
  • Project limits: Weil Road and Country Vale intersection to Tolle Road and Lance Crossing intersection
  • Project description: decommission of two of the city’s existing lift stations, as well as installation of 12 inch sewer main from the intersection of Country Vale and Weil Road, down Weil Road and Tolle Road to the Steele Creek Subdivision.
  • Cost: $2.41 million

Deer Creek Drainage Channel
  • Project limits: from limits of Phase 1 of drainage improvements to Dietz Road
  • Project description: The second phase of a current project, providing drainage improvements and bank stabilization south to Dietz Road.

Looking ahead

Cibolo City Council will discuss which projects to prioritize during a future strategic management workshop, Mayor Mark Allen said. The council's CIP subcommittee will also hold a meeting in April to discuss the proposed projects.
