Cibolo voters will have two bond propositions on the November ballot, totaling approximately $26.1 million.

These propositions are for the construction of a new animal shelter facility and a public safety facility. Cibolo City Council approved an ordinance for the election on Aug. 13.

The gist

The first proposition will be for the animal shelter facility in the amount of $9 million. This project will help expand animal services in Cibolo.

Planned features for the proposed facility include:
  • Entry plaza and lobby space
  • Large break room and training room
  • Workspace and offices to accommodate full staff and volunteers
  • Separate cat rooms and dog kennels for adoptions, strays, laundry, and quarantine
  • Indoor cat playroom
  • Separate facility workroom for food prep, laundry and grooming
  • In-house food storage area
  • Drive-thru sally port
  • Medical room
Additional information on the animal services facility can be found here.

What else?

The second bond proposition will be for the public safety facility in the amount of nearly $17.1 million.

The public safety facility would allow the police department, fire department and other public safety personnel to have a facility where additional training and safety preparation could be held.

With the new facility, the response times of the police and fire departments would be reduced for the southern portion of the city, according to development plans.

Additional information on the public safety facility can be found here.
