Cities in the Northeast San Antonio Metrocom will be closing their offices on July Fourth, with some cities staying closed through the weekend until July 8.

City offices in Schertz, Cibolo, Garden Ridge, Live Oak, Selma and Universal City will be closed on July Fourth.

Of these cities, Live Oak and Cibolo will be reopening on July 5, while Schertz, Garden Ridge, Selma and Universal City will be reopening offices on July 8.

Fireworks are not permitted in the incorporated areas of any of the metrocom cities.

According to ordinances for Cibolo, it is unlawful for any person to manufacture, sell, use, discharge, cause to be discharged, ignite, detonate, fire or otherwise set in action any fireworks of any description. Surrounding cities have similar ordinances that include penalties such as fines.
