Ralph Rodriguez wins Schertz Mayoral race, unofficial voting results show
There's a new mayor in town.
According to unofficial voting results from Comal, Guadalupe and Bexar counties, Ralph Rodriguez garnered 50.95% of votes, or 2,839 votes. Incumbent Ralph Gutierrez received 49.05% of votes, or 2,733 votes.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Kara Latimer elected as new Cibolo mayor, unofficial voting results show
Kara Latimer will be Cibolo's new mayor, according to unofficial voting results.
With all precincts reporting, Latimer has received 2,588 votes, or 58.74% of votes. Latimer's opponent, Terry Hinze, received 1,818 votes, or 41.26% of votes.
Latimer will replace Mark Allen, who was elected in November 2022 after serving as the District 5 City Council member, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

Boerne ISD tax rate election narrowly approved by voters
Unofficial results in Bexar, Comal and Kendall Counties show the Boerne ISD voter-approved tax rate election, or VATRE, favored by voters, receiving 51.26% of the votes.
In total, 12,174 ballots were cast across the three counties. Of those votes, 6,241 were in favor of the proposition and 5,933 voted against the proposition.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.
Chief Financial and Operations Officer Wes Scott, during the Aug. 18 board meeting, said these additional funds will supplement staff salary increases and fund capital improvements.

SCUCISD tax rate proposition fails, according to unofficial totals
By a slim margin, the tax rate election, Proposition A, proposed by Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD has failed to pass.

According to unofficial results from Guadalupe and Bexar counties, SCUCISD's Proposition A has 5,896 votes for a tax rate increase, or 49.76%, with 5,954 votes or 50.24% against the increase.
Deanna Jackson, the district's executive director of communications and community engagement, said in a Nov. 5 news release that the district will continue to monitor mail and provisional ballots due to the close result of the election.
Superintendent Paige Meloni said in the release that the district will need to plan for its future without the extra revenue.

Dave's Hot Chicken coming soon to Schertz Station development
Another national chain restaurant is set to become a tenant of the Schertz Station development.
What you need to know
Dave's Hot Chicken is making its way to the Schertz location in late November, Josh Levitt, the restaurant's public relations staff, said in an email to Community Impact.
This will be the fourth Dave's Hot Chicken location in the San Antonio area, joining two restaurants in San Antonio and one in New Braunfels, according to the company's website.
