On the ballot

Bexar County, Schertz, Cibolo, Judson ISD and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD have items on the Nov. 4 ballot.

Both Northeast San Antonio school districts have voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE, propositions.

The SCUCISD measure calls for an increase in the district’s property tax rate to $1.1969 per $100 valuation, while the JISD proposition would increase its rate to $1.0796 per $100.

According to previous reporting by Community Impact, the SCUCISD VATRE is to secure funding for a list of deferred projects and future teacher raises. JISD’s VATRE was called to manage a deficit in the district’s budget.

The city of Schertz also has Proposition A on its ballot, giving residents in extraterritorial jurisdiction within five miles of the boundary of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph the option of annexation or no annexation with land use regulations.
