Ramirez ran for SCUCISD's Place 2 position in November 2023, filing under Alberto Ramirez, but lost to Margaret Carlin, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

What will you focus on if elected?



I will focus on supporting teachers with the resources they need, managing taxpayer funds responsibly and improving communication between the district and families. My goal is to strengthen academic excellence while protecting extracurricular programs and student support services, ensuring every child has opportunities to learn, grow and succeed.



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



My wife, an educator and Comal ISD Teacher of the Year, and my two Steele HS sons, both excelling academically, inspire my dedication to education. Combined with 20 years of Air Force service, 16 in the JAG Corps and service on local boards, I am prepared to lead.



What do you see as the greatest challenge for SCUCISD?



The greatest challenge is maintaining strong academic programs and student support in the face of limited funding and possible enrollment declines. The district must balance budgets carefully while protecting classroom quality. Smart planning, transparency and community trust will be essential to meet this challenge without sacrificing student success.



What is something you want district residents to know about you?



I care deeply about this community and believe every student deserves the chance to succeed. I am committed to listening, being transparent and working collaboratively with families, teachers and staff. My service background has taught me discipline and integrity, and I will bring both to serving our schools.

Lead with unity, integrity and professionalism, foster a culture that empowers educators and helps every student thrive, collaborate with parents, students, staff and community leaders to promote continued district improvement, deliver strong financial stewardship and real value for every dollar invested, relentlessly pursue excellence – regain status as a model district



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



Strong record of service and commitment: previously, 12 years on the SCUCISD board of trustees, 4 years president, 4 years vice president, charter member of the Schertz Parkway Tax Increment Finance Zone Board of Governors, other Board experience—including president and treasurer—in several nonprofit organizations



What do you see as the greatest challenge for SCUCISD?



Our challenge is to rediscover a strong sense of excellence as part of our identity. To become a model district once again, we must continue to strengthen academics, boost staff morale and support students, proving through consistent progress in all areas that excellence is being restored and sustained.
